Recently, devastating wildfires have swept through and burned over 162,000 acres in Northern California in Napa & Sonoma counties. Forty-seven people have lost their lives and countless more have lost their homes and livelihoods; 7,200 structures have burned including, homes, schools, wineries, and places of business. The food and beverage community in Northern California has come together to help support the first responders and victims of the fires by providing hot meals, donating to community foundations, and holding fundraisers to support recovery efforts.
The USBG National Charity Foundation is doing our part thanks to a generous donation from the USBG San Francisco Chapter to fund our Northern California Wildfire Micro-Grant Program through the Bartender Emergency Assistance Program. The Foundation is offering one-time $250 micro-grants through the Cash.me phone app to qualified applicants that have been adversely affected by the wildfires in Northern California.
The Northern California Wildfire Micro-Grant Program application can be found HERE.
We hope that industry members will use these micro-grants in order to find safe shelter, food, and replacement clothing for the immediate future. We also encourage any industry member affected by the wildfires to apply for our full Bartender Emergency Assistance Program grants HERE.
